Meet Sloan Culver

Culver Design Build Inc. (CDBI) is owned and managed by Sloan Culver, a Virginia Class A Contractor. Sloan has nearly 25 years in the construction and remodeling trade, first running another construction firm for ten years, and for the last fifteen, at the helm of Culver Design Build.

Sloan has a detailed knowledge of the Alexandria and Northern Virginia areas, their geography, history, zoning and regulations. All these factors are extremely important when building in this area. For example, knowledge that Alexandria tends to have clay soils, or that some homes there are actually built with antique ship boards, or that an addition can only go so close to a property line are considerations that can impact a homeowner’s project. CDBI seeks to build lasting relationships with clients based on trust, and Sloan encourages homeowners to call with questions or requests for help. Many of Culver Design Build Inc.’s clients have hired us to do multiple, successive additions to the same property, or have had us back to work on subsequent homes after moving.

Sloan Culver also posseses the unique ability to “think outside the box.” For example, after a fire, a family was told by several builders to tear their house down. They were devastated. Then, they learned about Culver Design Build and contacted us. CDBI was able to rebuild their house from the inside out, preserving their beautiful fieldstone exterior.

Meet the Culver Design Build Inc. team

Vicki Gera is Culver Design Build’s accountant and we have been privileged to have her with us for at least a dozen years. Vicki has a background in paralegal work and accounting. Don’t hesitate to contact her with any questions you may have about an invoice.

Aaron Young has been a lead carpenter with Culver Design Build for five years. He came to us with ten years already under his tool belt, and his workmanship shows it. Aaron also has a tremendous ability to work with people, and his optimistic attitude, especially while working, is contagious.

Sean Harris joined Culver Design Build twelve years ago. He has thirty years total experience with carpentry and remodeling.  Also a lead man, he is highly skilled with fine trims and carpentry, and can create those beautiful interiors that are seen in the historic homes of Alexandria and Northern Virginia. He is equally at home framing.

Patricia Culver assists with Culver Design Build’s correspondence and also does extensive research for the firm. She is the primary coordinator for CDBI for the development of this website.
